Soul Patrol to Sole Control

Raiders control their own playoff destiny

Any win against the Broncos is a good thing. Especially when a massive fight is involved!

Marshawn Lynch looked like a workhorse throughout the game including 1 TD. Carr had solid numbers with 2 TD's and played with poise down the stretch. The pass to Patterson to seal the deal at the end was a thing of beauty.

The Broncos are 3-8 and were 3-7 entering into the second game of the season against the Raiders. The Broncos are not a good football team. At all. That said, with the Raiders' win it puts the Raiders in sole control of their own playoff destiny. If the Raiders win out, they win the division and earn a playoff berth.

Defensive Improvement?

Was the defense improved under Pagano? Against Paxton Lynch, yes. Against Trevor Siemian, not so much. Siemian was 11/21 for 149 yards and 2 TD's. Time will tell to measure the impact that losing Norton will have on this defense. For the time being, it was nice seeing different defensive looks and blitz packages.

Raiders are in the driver's seat. In the NFL, that's all any team could ask for after 11 games and still having a losing record. They face (in order) the Giants, @Chiefs, Cowboys, @Eagles and @Chargers. Some winnable games and some games that will be a grind. At least we get a minimum of five more games to cheer on the Silver and Black.
